Chardham Yatra is one of the biggest yatra of Hinduism as it is a circuit where devotees trek or walk for miles to see their deity. Chhota Chardham is located in the Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, which devotees can cover in a span of 10-14 days. Chardham Yatra has four Hindu temples – Yamunotari, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Covered in the snow and lush greenery, these our temples brings immense peace and devotion in the lives. ITINERARY
Day 1: Delhi – Rishikesh
Accelerate your journey to Chardham from Delhi; your first stop will be Rishikesh, where you will stay overnight in your pre-booked Hotel. Transfer to your hotel with the help of our representative and spend some leisure time with your family and friends. Then, go for the walking tour of Rishikesh, experience the Ganga Aarti, visit Ram and Laxman Jhula. In addition, visit several ashrams situated at the banks of Ganga River, these ashrams include Parmath Niketan Ashram, Sivananda Ashram, Beatles Ashram, etc. Spend your evening near the banks of Ganga, experience the peace and calmness, which is away from the noise of cities.
Day 2: Rishikesh to Barkot
After enjoying your overnight stay in Rishikesh, witness the early morning Ganga Aarti of Rishikesh, have your breakfast and move towards next destination. Second destination in your Chardham Yatra is Barkot, which is a 5-6 hours drive from Rishikesh. It is a very wonderful and mesmerizing drive to Barkot where you will experience the beauty of mountain covered in snow. While your drive to Barkot, make sure to carry your water bottle and puking bag, along with your headache medicine. On arrival to your pre-booked hotel in Barkot, get your keys and check-in into your respective rooms. Enjoy your evening near the banks of Yamuna and go for a walk.
Day 3: Barkot – Yamunotari – Barkot
After your early breakfast in Barkot, get ready for your Darshan at first pilgrimage site, Yamunotari also known as the origin of river Yamuna. Your journey to Yamunotari dham starts with a drive to Janki Chhatti, which is around 45 km from Barkot. One you reach to Janki Chhatti, you have to trek for 6 km to Yamunotari for darshan. The temple built in 18th century by Tehri Naresh and reconstructed in 19th century by the queen of Jaipur. Near the Yamunotari dham temple, visit hot springs and Divya Shilla. After darshan, trek back to Janki Chhatti and then reach to your hotel in Barkot. Take rest, have your dinner and enjoy your overnight stay in hotel.
Day 4: Barkot – Uttarkashi
After breakfast and checkout from hotel, get ready for next destination. Enjoy your drive to Uttarkashi from Barkot, which is a 3-hour trip. Uttarkashi is located near the bank of Bhagirathi River in Uttarakhand. After reaching to Uttarkashi, check in to your hotel and take some rest. Uttarkashi has several temples that you can visit during your stay at hotel. Some of the temples that you can visit in Uttarkashi are Vishwanath Temple, Shakti Temple, and more. Do darshan of deity in these temples and enjoy your evening in Uttarkashi near the banks of Bhagirathi. Return to hotel, have you dinner, and enjoy your overnight stay in hotel.
Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
After having your breakfast at hotel, get ready for your drive to Gangotri dham. While your drive to Gangotri dham, look at mesmerizing views of Harsil Valley, Deodar trees and mountains, and more. On your arrival at Gangotri dham, take a holy dip in the Ganga River. After your bath in Ganga, get ready for darshan of Maa Ganga at the Gangotri dham. Perform pooja, offer Prasad, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. After spending some time near the banks of Ganga River, drive back to your hotel in Uttarkashi and have your dinner followed by the overnight stay.
Day 6: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi
Have your breakfast, and head towards Guptkashi that 8 to 9 hours drive from Uttarkashi. During your drive to Guptkashi, enjoy affectionate views of river Mandakini at Tilwara, which comes from Kedarnath. After reaching to Guptkashi, check into the hotel, take some rest and visit Ardh Narishwar Temple. Enjoy your rest of the day near Mandakini River and capture the mesmerizing view. Have your dinner and take proper rest at the hotel.
Day 7: Guptkashi – Kedarnath
After your breakfast and departure from Guptkashi, get ready for your drive to Kedarnath, which is 30 km by road. After driving for 30 km to Sonprayag, you have to trek to Kedarnath that is 14 km each side from Gaurikund, which takes around 6-7 hours. You can reach to Kedarnath by different ways including Trekking, Helicopter, Pony and Palki. For helicopter, you have to pre-book it at the counter and get to the temple in minimal time. After a hard trek of six-seven hours, when you reach to the Kedarnath temple the beauty of temple will mesmerize you. Upon darshan of Baba Kedar, enjoy your overnight stay at the camps and take proper rest.
Day 8: Kedarnath – Pipalkoti
After your breakfast and early morning darshan, get ready to trek back to Gaurikund that is again 14 km. From Gaurikund, transfer to your car/bus for your drive to Pipalkoti that is 150 km away. During your drive to Pipalkoti, enjoy the views and en route Ukhimath, Rudraprayag, and Karnaparayag. Once you reach Pipalkoti, check into your hotel and take rest for the day followed by dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Pipalkoti – Badrinath
Have your breakfast the hotel in Pipalkoti, and then head towards the last temple of Chardham, Badrinath. From Pipalkoti, it is a drive of 3 hours that covers 77 km via Joshimath. After reaching to Badrinath, check into hotel, transfer your bags, and take rest. Experience the evening Aarti at Badrinath temple, and enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 10: Badrinath – Srinagar
Early morning at Badrinath, take holy bath at Tapt Kund and then go for the Darshan of Badrinath deity. Perform the Pind dan Shraddha of ancestors followed by Darshan of Badrivishal Brahma Kapal. Then, explore the nearby places, including Mana, Vyas Cave, Bhimkund, and more. After that, move towards the Srinagar of Uttarakhand, which will take time of almost 7 hours. Then, check into your hotel and enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 11: Srinagar – Haridwar
In the morning, enjoy your breakfast at hotel in Srinagar and then, drive to Haridwar. Once you reach to Haridwar, check into your hotel and enjoy your day by sightseeing. Visit some major attractions such as Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temple. Witness the Ganga Aarti in evening and spend some time near the banks of Ganga River. Then, return to hotel and have your dinner followed by overnight stay.
Day 12: Haridwar – Delhi
Have your breakfast at hotel and get ready for your drive to Delhi. Enjoy your drive to Delhi that is around 220 km in distance. This will be the end of your Chardham Yatra, get back to your home with many unforgettable memories and divine experience of Chardham temples.
